Annex VI Table 3-1 lists chemicals and their required warnings.  They can be found in the Classification & Labelling (C&L) Inventory database.

Background

In order to harmonize previously inconsistent label warnings and Safety Data Sheets for the same chemical, the European Parliament and Council adopted the Regulation on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP), Regulation 1272/2008. It entered into force on 20 January 2009. The Regulation incorporates the classification criteria and labelling rules agreed at UN level, the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). It introduces new classification criteria, hazard symbols (pictograms) and labelling phrases, while taking account of elements which are part of the earlier EU legislation.

Originally published in ECB, Annex I of Directive 67-548-EEC and subsequent amendments/adaptations, known as the Dangerous Substances Directive (DSD) or Directive on Dangerous Substances (DDS).

The M-factor is a multiplying factor. The concept of M-factors has been established to give an increased weight to substances that are very toxic for the aquatic environment when classifying mixtures containing these substances.

EXCLUSIONS: Currently Pharos only accomodates substances that have a CAS number, plus select compound groups. The CLP includes a significant number of substances which do not have a CAS number and are not listed in Pharos at this time. The CLP also includes a number of compund groups which Pharos has not yet characterized.
