SHORT CHAINED CHLORINATED PARAFFINS (SCCP), C10-13

CAS RN: 85535-84-8

Synonyms: ALKANES, C10-13, CHLORO, CHLOROALKANES, SCCP

Description: The largest use of SCCPs in the United States is as a component of lubricants and coolants in metal cutting and metal forming operations. SCCPs are also are often used as secondary plasticizers (or extender) in polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Chlorinated paraffins can be used as well in other plastics including acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resins (ABS), unsaturated polyester resins, polyethylene, polypropylene and urethane foam in rubbers, paints, adhesives, caulks and sealants as either plasticizers or flame retardants.
