Basic Description | Scoring Protocols | Definitions | Issues
This section addresses the health impact of chemicals used or emitted at any stage of the manufacturing of the product to which workers or neighboring communities could be exposed.
Scoring above a 1 in MfrTox requires that the manufacturer disclose 100% of the product's material contents. Pharos evaluates materials listed in the material content, as well as all chemicals used, generated or emitted in manufacture against chemical hazard warnings in the Chemical & Material Library (CML). Pharos awards higher scores to products that eliminate flagged chemicals of concern identified or use or emit them less frequently.
